On the Voltage platform there are primarily 2 types of APIs. There is the **Voltage API** which is responsible for node operations (creating, starting, stopping, etc) and the **Node API** (sending and receiving payments, opening channels, etc). These APIs have different endpoints and use different authentication mechanisms.
